Commissioned by Opera North & Leeds International Film Festival to perform a live score based on Oscar Wilde's Salome, Haley Fohr (of Circuit des Yeux) delivered a musical meditation on Alla Nazimova, whose avant adaptation of his work produced the the 1923 silent film masterpiece.That's her on the poster made to advertise and commemorate the event — a lovely silk-screen transmutation of the incandcent iconography of Nazimova's vision.
