JEZEBELS could portend a world where the body, conceived as the secular and the affirmative, is trumped by control, the machinations of hierarchy. But I rather think it signals a kind of second life; not one that is wholly digital, but one that is conciously rooted in the historical tendencies corresponding to expressionist painting and portraiture itself. Ackermanns’ subjects are self-liberating. There's no exploiter and no exploited. — Jeffery Grunthaner
