Today, Ben Chasny delivers a third and final Six Organs of Admittance single from their upcoming album, Time is Glass (out April 26th). Played with elegance and earthly soul, "New Year's Song" arrives with a striking music video from director and frequent Six Organs collaborator Cam Archer. Six Organs of Admittance will celebrate the release with a US tour starting in May, and a freshly-announced Midwest tour beginning in September — including a performance at Pygmalion Festival in Urbana, Illinois.
"New Year's Song" is a song of renewal, pairing toothsome acoustic playing with a sleek electric guitar line. The latest compathic expression from Six Organs of Admittance is Chasny’s blend of folk, rock, and pop baring teeth: stained, blackened, and transcended with otherworldly spirit. Cam Archer’s music video captures the grit of "New Year's Song" on film with an ironclad shot of a figure, adorned in pearls, spiraling in black-and-white and flashes of color.
Time is Glass is the 21st album from Six Organs of Admittance, continuing a cyclical pattern of acoustic records released roughly every 6 years: School of the Flower (2005), Asleep on the Floodplain (2011), and the critically-acclaimed Burning the Threshold (2017). Recorded in the visceral environs of home, Time is Glass is a sharply focused record from Ben Chasny, who is captured once again in the intricate tangle of the fretboards, threading backward through the time of Six Organs of Admittance to form an intimate cosmic expression. Out April 26th on LP, CD and digital!
