This last spring - March 5th, to be exact - AZITA emerged from a lengthy artist retreat with her first album in eight years, Glen Echo. And it was more than worth the wait!
AZITA's trip to Glen Echo mixes various times and vibes: righteously grooving goodness, acerbic exchanges overheard in the street, invisible shifts and silent echoes from empty corners of the old neighborhood, the little wins and losses one carries through life, all voiced, phrased, arranged and played as pop music that only AZITA could possibly imagine
For AZITA, there is only one way to her accomplish her singular conception and on Glen Echo, this meant her singing and playing all the parts. Including some instruments she had to learn to play to play them! But for the now-month-delayed new release show - hooray! - she'll play the songs with her faithful band - Sam Wagster (guitar), Adam Vida (drums) and Nick Macri (bass).
Join the homecoming party October 1st, as Azita returns to the Hideout stage for the (belated, but also, like, eternal) Glen Echo record release show. Your whole life might begin again here - what are you waiting for?
