Not two men – a wolf! Not just any wolf – a Superwolf. Spawned by Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, this mythical creature has roamed the wildernet (and most reality-based elsewheres) in LP/CD/CS/DL/DS/live concert and of course, promotional poster forms since 2005. Still, its plus-sized ambitions have always suggested MORE – but what? A film? Cartoon series? Children’s vitamin? Farmer’s friend? Intimate inanimate? Presidential anti-candidate? Every year, the list of potential nu-manifestations expands. So, with a swelling, itching braintrust, we returned to the original album design, jointly made by cousins Spencer Sweeney and Matt Sweeney, to produce a hitherto-unstormed-upon manifestation.
Sometimes just a shirt is really all you need – but in this case, it’s a super-limited-edition (50 for ALL EARTH) Superwolf-sized shirt, with all particulars expanded upon! The sleeves: long. The artwork: full coverage on the outside, with Bonnie and Matt's names printed around the collar. Plus! Drag City logos on the cuffs, with a custom logo printed at the nape of the neck inside the shirt (to combat those cheap American knock-offs!). DELUXE. And luxe too: the textile is some kind of fusion cotton, sensually smooth to the touch, something like an Under Armor vibe. But of course, they don’t sell Under Armor at the Gagosian Gallery (though they really should)! Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor isn’t photographed by Q Magazine wearing Under Armor in the studio! No, friends, and have sold a batch or two at selected galleries, now we’re going direct with an extant handful of this limited-edition item (50 shirts for the whole world to wear - what is this, a COVID-19 test?), available in XS, S, M and L sizes. SUPER.
