NEW DOC REVEALS THE INTENSITY BEHIND THE MYSTERY OF FREDERICK MICHAEL ST. JUDE

posted July 7th, 2017

Some artists are at a level of genius so singular and existing on it's own plane, it's difficult to fully surmise using our limited vocabulary. One such singer songwriter was brought to us by none other than Gregg Turkington (he of impeccable sharpness of ear only surpassed by the sharpness of his tongue as funnyman Neil Hamburger): the inimitable Frederick Michael St. Jude. Back in 2013 we gave a proper issuing of his inaugural, lost treasure, Here Am I - a trippy batch of jams with Bowie-esque highs Floridian byways circa 1977 that never made it out of the region. The world needs to know, you know! It's our duty. Next came the staggering rock-opera, Gang War, an essential dystopian masterpiece; and most recently, Gregg's own Million Dollar Performances issued the exhumed EP, Almost Lost! In the true DIY spirit of FM, these beauties are packaged in glue-on covers, along with FM's liner notes.

FM's story is truly a long and fascinating one that deserves deeper examination, so today we're happy to point you towards a new document that's filling in many of the mysteries of St. Jude - perfect for your nightly internet rabbit holing! Longtime Hamburger co-conspirator Major Entertainer Mike H has poured his blood, sweat, tears & passion into this true, behind-the-scenes look at the strange world and unique journey of F.M. St. Jude, the exceptionally talented singer, songwriter, painter and, er, archaeologist. Do yourself a favor and watch it now!
