It's official: The Peacers are at hand, with their second album, Introducing the Crimsmen, due on June 16th, and tours of Europe and the US developing swiftly beyond then. But before all that, there's still plenty to talk about! The first evidence of this, "Jurgen's Layout" is already on the record - remember? Mike D's wispy melodies seem to be conveying a ghost existence, but the band nails his wraith-like presence to the churning guts of rock, and roll on. For the second drop, we have a vid for "Haptic Chillweed," in which Mike's wist is sweetly unbound, floating in the glimmers and ripples of an acoustic fishbowl, circling through the earliest memories again and again, as the sand appears to sift finely down through the hourglass and images from a life flicker, breeze and repeat.
Done up in austere and harrowing (but gentle!) black-and-white, the "Haptic Chillweed" vid is guaranteed to raise the hairs on your neck and worm into your head and lay eggs. The circle is complete and remains unbroken, for The Peacers. But are you gonna be okay? A full album-infusion may be your only hope - watch the video for "Haptic Chillweed" and hang on!
