Hey, "Great" Britain - we know, it's summer. That means endless vacation time, right! So if you are sitting around, wondering what the hell you might do for the next fortnight while you wait for another bank holiday to roll around, why not take it on the bum? Put on your best rags, and hitch your way around with New Bums, as they stake out some highly unlikely territory in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany throughout June.It all kicks off tonight at London's highly visible (yet very intimate) Cafe OTO, then quickly dives into the bushes, Brit-style. Like, Stretten-on-Fosse-style! Or if that's too metropolitan for you, how about Falmouth, or Hebden Bridge? Ever been backpacking through any of these places? Us too neither! But that's the New Bums way - the only path toward promoting Voices In a Rented Room is the one less traveled.. Bums-4-Life Ben Chasny and Donovan Quinn wouldn't have it any other way - and those who find their way to these far-flung villages, way-stations and sheep pastures (plus the occasional actual dot on the map) will be rewarded by the very real two-man band that is New Bums. And if you can't make it to the middle of nowhere, they're playing a Sin-Eater festival in Shropshire (which is, we suspect, the reason this whole thing is happening - cross it off yer damn bucket list, Chasny!). So listen up, Bumheads (Bummers?) - time to hit the road. And don't be afraid to pull out the old Atlas - even Google Earth hasn't heard of some of these places! New Bums are riding right off the rails in selected European locales this June.
