We're sweating some kind of wicked anticipation syndrome fever buried underneath the snow here in the DC bunker. The origin of the virus strain is unknown, but one thing is for certain - these Michael Yonkers fans are more persistent than pack of rabid zombies! But we can't really blame them; we're giddy with Yonkers delight, ourselves, and really can't fathom keeping a lid on things all the way to January's release date. So! We missed out on Hanukkah, but we're early for Xmas with some mid-December gifterosity. Get down with the title track from Borders of My Mind, the home-recorded LP Yonkers made with pre-Microminiature Love bandmate, Jim Woehrle, below via Soundcloud. Or download for free up in the Free Tracks section of our web site!
Captured on Woehrle's full-track, mono, one quarter-inch reel-to-reel tape recorder with just one, bi-directional ribbon microphone, the song highlights Yonkers' plaintive guitar playing, Woehrle's piano, and the two's arcing vocal harmonies transcendent in a very real atmosphere, flourishing with post-psychedelic echoes. Borders of My Mind comes out January 21st in tandem with another freshly unearthed Yonkers LP, Michael Lee Yonkers - both albums are unjustly-unheard classics for lovers of homespun astral folk!
