Y'all ready for a little taste of the bush from down under? Well look no further, here comes Mick Turner! Merely weeks before his post-rock opera of an album, Don't Tell The Driver, taxis into your local record store, Mick's done brought us a preview song to build the hype! "Sometimes" is sure to knock that dangling bush-oyster right outta your nose, with it's pastoral/rural vibe and, excitingly, entrancing vocals! No, not the strange gurgling tones emanating from Mick, but rather the voice of Caroline Kennedy-McCraken. It's earthy and spare, yet vibrant and enticing - in other words, a Mick Turner creation through and through. Yeah, Mick's done work in notable bands like Dirty Three and Venom P. Stringer, but his lax solo-outings are consistent candy, and Don't Tell The Driver is truly a consolidation of everything he's developed up until now, streamlined and presented under one big sophisticated umbrella made of fairy floss. Don't Tell The Driver officially rains down November 19th, so be sure to check out "Sometimes" to get a momentary fill of new Mick Turner before catching an eye-full of the bloke live, on tour, next month!
