It hasn't felt like a Year since AZITA released Disturbing The Air, but shit - it's been, like, longer than that and the record's still on our turntable. Just in time for our needle change, AZITA's returned from where she goes when we can't see her, bearing drifts of music that shock us out of our reverie and into hers! Yes, Year is undoubtedly the most varied collection AZITA's yet carved her name into, sweetly played with flexion and understatement through and through, accompanied by Sam Wagster, Toby Summerfield, and Adam Vida. The arrangements on Year swerve from song to song; power rock, piano balladry, jangling pop and even some dub/ musique concrete sounds each rare their heads, surely cracking smiles from Annette Peacock and Catherine Ribeiro, wherever they may be. In fact, Year is the most playful and extroverted AZITA we've heard since all the way back to Life On the Fly, which was a non-stop funhouse ride! Hell, this could be your Year, too - go ahead, take a peak at this video for "It's Understanding," straight from the studio sessions that produced Year, and preorder the dang thang from our Drag City web store!
