GET JO PHIL

posted June 25th, 2012

Starved for Newsom action? We're here to throw a mini-bone. In fact, if you act fast, you can catch Joanna getting minimal tonight with one of the grand old men of minimalism still mini-kicking it, Philip Glass, at The Warfield Theater in San Francisco! The cause is maxium - The Henry Miller Library in Big Sur needs money! Dramatic improvements to their facilities, as mandated by the feds, are required for The Henry Miller Library to stay open. Like better toilet tissue; we nearly rent our rectal bits on the house leaf the last time we were out there in the woods. To this end (hyuk), the strapped HML folks enlisted some of the sharpest compositional minds in American music to play a benefit concert with all proceeds going towards renovations. Newsom and Glass, performing their own works and collaborating, are joined by violinist Tim Fain for what may be Joanna's sole (or is that soul?) performance of 2012! Tickets are still on sale, so fork it over, 'k? Spend your money on the dreams of your kids futures, or whatever: libraries! Joanna's gonna be there, so you know It's worth every last single (eg, minimal) penny. Tickets here!
